3 girls missing for 10 years found in a house in Cleveland
by thehoneybadger 3 years ago (May 09, 2013) in News
Three young women from America who went missing separately, one more than 10 years ago, have been found alive in the basement of a residential house in Cleveland, Ohio.

Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight and an unknown six-year-old girl were found in the house and were taken to hospital for initial assessments but appeared to be in good health.

They have now been reunited with their families, although Amanda Berry's mother died in 2006 before she had a chance to meet her daughter again. She had spent the previous three years looking for Amanda, who disappeared in 2003.
Police said the suspects are Hispanic, aged 50, 52 and 54, and one of them had lived at the house on Seymour Avenue.

Neighbour Charles Ramsay described in remarkable detail how he rescued the women after hearing screams.

He told a local news reporter "I heard screaming, I'm eating my McDonalds and I see this girl going nuts trying to get out the house. I go in the porch and she says 'help me get out, I been here a long time.' I figured it was a domestic violence dispute, so I try and get in the door, but we couldn't get in that way, because the way the door opened, a body couldnt fit through, only a hand, and she comes out with a little girl and she says 'call 911 my name is Amanda Berry...there are other girls inside '

"And this was my neighbour, I thought you got some big testicles to pull this off bro, we see this dude every day, I barbeque with this dude, we listen to salsa and eat ribs together, and we had not a clue."
A 911 call released by the police reveals Berry begging for the officers to arrive before her kidnapper returns. She is heard saying: "I'm Amanda Berry. I've been on the news for the last 10 years.

"I've been kidnapped, and I've been missing for 10 years. And I'm here. I'm free now."

Berry was kidnapped in 2003, when she was 16, after telling her sister she had managed to get a lift home from her job at Burger King. DeJesus went missing at age 14 on her way home from school about a year later. They were found just a few miles from where they had gone missing. Knight went missing in 2002 and is 32 now.

Someone said they he needs a reward, he then said no I get a paycheck and he showed it to the people. He then said to give the money to the girls to help them.

the guy essentially saves three women's lives and you drag up a link to his criminal history?
          • deleted | 3 years ago | 0 points
You are very observant. I also read that somebody else had the same story about how they saved the girls, he just got to the camera first. You can't judge a book by it cover, but you also can't judge it from reading page 121... You have to read the whole thing.

sadly i hear - 2 of the 3 brothers have been released ? so does that mean we may go lynch them ?
please say yes please say yes :-)
            • deleted | 3 years ago | 5 points
Police have said the two brothers knew nothing about the abductions or the women. I'm guessing the women are the ones that they got that evidence from of course I don't know.

Oneil Castro is a god damn drunk and can always be found on the front stoop of the neighborhood liquor store with his bottle of mad dog ,as for Pedro he can be found wondering about quite often in the same general area, have at it man!!!a lot of random acts of violence happen around that neighborhood would be quite hard to pin point who did what.

Agree 100%. But I am curious why they would blur the girl's face in #4, when I can use process of elimination from #3 to find out what she looks like.
      • sexualharassmentpanda | 3 years ago | 2 points
that picture was never supposed to be released in the first place it was sent to a family member she does not want the face of her young daughter plastered everywhere for very understandable reasons
      • deleted | 3 years ago | 1 point
I'm guessing that the three in #3 are the kidnapped victims while the pixalated face is #4 is probably the daughter born out of rape from one of the victims and her captor.

There is a petition on McDonalds fb page to give him a big paycheck or food for life. The interview is hilarious and and he seems like a very good guy.

Ha he was defiantly plugging McDonalds. Maybe just put his picture holding a Big Mac on McMurray's car

So let's finish him off with Big Macs.

I love the guy with the green tee in #1.... Shifty looking mother fucker!

The only person that was charged was Ariel Castro the guy in picture #7. He was formally charged with 4 counts of kidnapping and 3 counts of rape. The other 2 are his brothers. They were investigated and it was determined they had no knowledge of what Ariel was doing.
One of the women was pregnant at least 5 times and he would starve her for 2 weeks and punch her in the stomach until she miscarried.
    • deleted | 3 years ago | 2 points
What an evil bastard... I don't think I could come up in a thousand years with the idea of starving a girl and punching her in the belly to get rid of a baby...

Took em 10 years to break out? There's a lot more to this story than meets the eye.

Chained at the waist and neck every day. Pretty sure they weren't granted weekend passes to go to Lillith Fair.

Still, no opportunities in ten years?

I think they have tried, but was snatched right back in. Supposedly the neighbors saw a naked woman crawling in the backyard, but was nowhere to be found when cops got there. Cops knocked on the door, got no answer and left.

I'm not denigrating these girls, just curious about their story which I'm sure they'll tell. A lot of stuff happens over 10 years

Can't imagine the daily physical and emotional torture that these women went through. They shouldn't be pressured by anyone to say a damn thing to anyone other than a psychiatrist about their ordeal. Should they give advise and words of encouragement to anyone else in their situation? Absolutely. I think that asking them to detail the abuse they endured for the entertainment of the masses would be fucking cruel.

Haven't two of these guys been released and it stated they had nothing to do with it? Yea the guy that did this was fucked up but doesn't mean people should jump to conclusions and hang everyone related to the guy that did it?

not wanting to line jump so i reply to you here ?
if i am holding 3 women(people) captive for 10 years and you and another dude are living in the same house as me and my captives
did i blindfold you two for you not to know ?
fair enough i do not know enough about the whole story (facts) to make sure statements - but logic itself leads me to believe that if all three brothers do live in that house - and them captives were held in that same house - i cannot imagine a way that they did not know of what was happening
      • theflavman | 3 years ago | 2 points
Like I mentioned in a previous comment... I heard this on the news, fm radio news. I only stated what the broadcaster said and he said that the 2 other brothers didn't live there and that is why they let them go...
        • deleted | 3 years ago | 1 point
thank you for the reply - i still find the that part of the story bigger than my throat - just will not go down

I know its hard to but I have heard weirder shit. I had an uncle that was abusive towards my aunt and cousins.... we never ever new till they got divorced and she started telling us the shitty way he treated them.

Awww geez... these girls are probably going to be all kinds of fucked up for the rest of their lives. I don't envy them in their attempt at having a normal relationship...
